(1) KL1 Programming Environment on Unix: PDSS
Machine: UNIX machine
Environment: UNIX, (GNU Emacs)
Language: C, KL1, (Prolog, Emacs Lisp)
Source Code: 3 MB
Documents: Manual (English / Japanese)
Overview
-
- The KL1 programming environment on an ordinary (not multi-processor) UNIX system.
Configuration
- KL1-B (byte code) interpreter written in C.
- KL1 to KL1-B compilers written in KL1 and SICStus Prolog.
- Runtime support routines (command interpreter and I/O) written in KL1.
- GNU Emacs Libraries - KL1-mode to edit KL1 source programs and PDSS-mode to run PDSS interactively through multiple emacs buffers.
Function
PDSS-PIMOS Development Support System is a KL1 system which was used
to develop PIMOS. PDSS is running on ordinary BSD-UNIX machines, and
is widely compatible with the KL1 system found on Multi-PSI besides
implementation details,execution speed,etc.
Moreover PDSS include GNU Emacs Lisp libraries to assist you in
editing KL1 source programs and to realise interactive execution
though multiple emacs buffers. Therefore, pdss is very useful to
develop KL1 programs.
Installation Environment
- PDSS require the UNIX system (only BSD version). In ICOT, We are using PDSS on SUN-3,SUN-4 and Sequent Symmetry.
- You must provide 20MB of disk space to install the full PDSS system.
- One of KL1 compiler is written in SICStus Prolog. This is an optional tool. However, this generate better code.
- PDSS should be used with GNU Emacs. It is more user-friendly.
