Abstract:
A parallel database management system (DBMS) called
Kappa is developed in order to provide efficient database
management facilities for knowledge information processing
applications. The data model of Kappa is based on a nested relational
model to treat complex structured data efficiently. The system is
written in KL1, and works on parallel and/or distributed environments
of conventional machines with KLIC. In this paper, we give an
overview of Kappa.
